About:

Born and bred in Auckland, I have been patrolling the streets since the 1970s.
In the late 1970s I spend a few years in the UK and Europe. I was in London when I came upon a skinhead brawl. I took photos then rushed to a telephone box and rang one of the newspapers in Fleet St. The editor told me to bring the film in. He had it developed while I waited expectantly, dreams of the front page in my head.
After the negs were developed he called me into his office: "Son, I can't use these. You were too far away. Remember this - use a wide angle lens and GET IN CLOSE! My boys would rather have a smack in the head than miss a photo."
I have never forgotten that advice.
